We went geocaching again. It was such a beautiful day we just had to get out.(I'll put up a picture later )We had two to go to, but didn't find either one. It's fun climbing around the woods, I mean really climbing! You'll see from the pictures. A little dissappointing when they prove illusive. We just have to pick eaiser ones untill we get better at it. They were only about a mile from home, so it was great to get out and walk.

Geocaching

We had an adventure last night. It was getting dark but we decided to go anyway. We went to Hidden Falls park, beneath the Ford plant and by the Mississippi river. As I said it was dark (just before 5:00pm) and only 10 degrees out, but we were dressed for it. We had our flashlights and our GPS.
It seemed to take forever to find the spot, but we did. Our flashlights seemed like pinpricks in the darkness (note to self, get bigger flashlight!) We have failed to find caches in the broad daylight, so I was thinking should we even try? But I'm glad we didn't give up.
The spot was covered with fallen trees- so many places to hide a cache. Where do you start? We found it pretty quickly though, once we started. As I was looking along a fallen tree, with my flashlight I noticed something that didn't look quite natural so I told Geoff to move it and look. There was a hollow place in the log and then Geoff found it. It was a large mayo jar covered with camo duct tape. Inside was a log book, pencil, and many trinkets to trade for. We signed the log book. There was a boyscout troop who had signed it and found it earlier that day. It's such a thrill to find the cache!
It was so interesting to find out there was a huge sub-culture of these people, AND caches everywhere! Within 10 miles of us there are 789! So fun! If you get a chance do it! http://www.geocaching.com/

Geocacheing

Here is a picture of Steven and Geoffrey from today. We went on a hunt for a geocache. It was at Minnehaha Falls park. We just started doing this recently. It's kind of a high tech treasure hunt. Really fun. It gets you outdoors walking and climbing around. You use a GPS to find them. There are hundreds of them all over the world.

My Manna

1 John 5:4
"For whatever is born of God is victorious over the world; and this is the victory that conqueror the world, even our faith."

Here it is in the Message-

"Every God-begotten person conquers the world's ways. The conquering power that brings the world to its knees is our faith. The person who wins out over the world's ways is simply the one who believes Jesus is the Son of God."

Having faith, living by faith, that's how we win. Believing not doubting. Standing firm in every situation, no matter how it may look. Circumstances are temporary, My faith is for eternity. I am a God-begotten person, and I am a winner.

Our Scottie (Cameron) had a ruff appointment today. Labs, a heart biopsy, stress echo and then his office visit. He's been doing great though, it's just a check-up.
I'm expecting a good report.

NEW ART

Here's something new I've been working on. I take an old book that I'm not interested in any more (the older the better) I take it apart add some fresh papers and a few embellishments and create something beautiful.

Ephesians 5:8-15 (Amplified Bible)
Amplified Bible (AMP)

8 For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of Light [lead the lives of those native-born to the Light].

9 For the fruit (the effect, the product) of the Light or [a]the Spirit [consists] in every form of kindly goodness, uprightness of heart, and trueness of life.

10 And try to learn [in your experience] what is pleasing to the Lord [let your lives be constant proofs of what is most acceptable to Him].

11 Take no part in and have no fellowship with the fruitless deeds and enterprises of darkness, but instead [let your lives be so in contrast as to] [b]expose and reprove and convict them.

12 For it is a shame even to speak of or mention the things that [such people] practice in secret.

13 But when anything is exposed and reproved by the light, it is made visible and clear; and where everything is visible and clear there is light.

14 Therefore He says, Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall shine (make day dawn) upon you and give you light.(A)

15 Look carefully then how you walk! Live purposefully and worthily and accurately, not as the unwise and witless, but as wise (sensible, intelligent people),

This was my reading for today. Vs.14 was the verse we got the morning after Scottie's surgery and they were going to wake him up, of course his Dr. Wasn't very hopeful because of the poor heart function and all the blood clots, BUT he did wake up!
But today's verse, vs.8 "walk as children of light", really stuck out to me. My devotional talked about how even a tiny lighting bug cannot be overcome by the darkness of a large room. All eyes are drawn to it. So should we walk, so that people are drawn to us, because they see a difference.

Things are good, I'll try to add some pics from camp soon.

Here is Geoff from last year. We've been going there since 2002. Geoff was only 5 that first year. I never thought we would end up working at a camp, but it has been great. The people we have met, are just the best people. They divide the weeks up. The first campers of the summer are boys. The rest of the summer is girls. My job is head cook. We serve 160, about 95 boys and the rest support staff. It's usually a very busy week, but also rewarding. I have been cook, for up to 3 weeks a summer. FUN!
The camp I was refering to is Camp Cherith (pronounced care-eth) . It is non-denominational, but part of Pioneer clubs. Here is a link, go check it out-www.camp-cherith.com/ .

Steven, Michael,Will, Cameron (Scott) and Geoffrey. Are they not cute? This Pic is from Memorial day.

Psalm 55.22
"Cast your burden on the Lord (releasing the weight of it) and He will sustain you, He will never allow the (consistantly) righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall or fail)."

This verse reminded me of what Pastor Mac said as he was taking the offering last night. He said there were two things we should keep in mind as we give.
1. Be Consistant in giving. Don't stop.
And
2. Have Contentment.1 Tim 6.6 (AMP) says "Godliness accompanied with contentment (that contentment which is a sense of inward sufficiency) is great and abundant gain."

You can't really be content if you are loaded with cares. Give them to Jesus. Then you will truley be content.

Good Morning
This is a picture of Dave and I , from May15th, 2006

We got all dressed up for a party at church. So I thought I would share.

We are about to have our 30th wedding anniversary! Can you believe it?

It was really fun getting dressed up, I guess we'll have to do it more often.

II Corinthians 9:8(AMP)

And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to you in abundance so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever the need be self-sufficient (possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation).

self portrait
Nahum 1:7
The Lord is good, a Strength and Stronghold in the day of trouble; He knows ( recognizes, has knowledge of, and understands ) those who take refuge and trust in Him.

It's been a year now since Scott received a new heart. He had his checkup yesterday. It was perfect! Praise the Lord! As I was waiting for him, in the waiting area, I was chatting with another transplant patient. She had her transplant just a few months ago. She was sharing with me all that she had been through, and it was a lot! Rejection, infections, suffering.

It is truly amazing what the body is capable of withstanding. It just makes me so thankful, that the Lord helped us. As He will if we take refuge in Him, trust Him. The Lord is GOOD!

Today's manna
Philippians 4.6 (AMP)
"Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything by prayer and petition (definite requests) with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. And God's peace..."
Why do we fret? God says not to.
Is it because we think we can do something? Maybe.
Can I really? NO!
We can trust Him, He loves to surprise us. There are things in my past that I wish I could change, I can't. People I've hurt and people who have hurt me. I can learn from those things. The place I am in now is a wonderful place. Full of wonderful things. And I know there are even more wonderful things to come. Why is it wonderful? Because God has brought me here and is with me. God's peace... is wonderful!

Since we consider and look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are visible are temporal (brief and fleeting), but the things that are invisible are deathless and everlasting.
II Cor. 4.18

My manna today.
I've been reading a book called "The Un-answered prayers of Jesus" by Mike Evans. Very interesting book. It says that the Lord's prayer (from John 17 . 1-26) has 9 un-answered prayers.
#1. That we would know the only true God.

To know Him, to hear His voice, to do His will every day, that is what I want.
Not to waste my time, but to be very deliberate. This life we have is so brief, but what we have ahead of us is eternal! Things we do while we're here can have eternal effect, or no effect. We make the choice.
I am very excited about what will happen as I begin to be more deliberate.

My Sister and I
My Manna- Isaiah 40:26 (Message) Look at the night skies, Who do you think made all this? Who marches this army of stars out each night, counts them off, calls each by name-so magnificent, so powerful!-and never overlooks a single one!
Welcome to my blog! Who would have thought a mother of 7, grandmother of 3, would be writing a blog. Who will read it? It doesn't matter, I will.
